My wish for healing for those who have endured sexual abuse

Lyrics

Evaporate - Erik Haakenstad

She’s moving in a mist
Swirling all around her now
Never sure she’ll find
Familiar forms ahead
Pressing on through doubt
Pushing past the twisted truths
Gagging on your lies
But she’s winning through

You think that you’re untouchable
You act like you’re invincible
She’ll make it back, she’ll face your name
She’ll break you down, you will evaporate

Smiling monsters lounge
Hiding there all in plain sight
Protected by confusion
And denials from your peers
But she knows what you are
Living with the act you forced
She’s not who she was
But she’ll take control

She will not be still
She will not go quiet now
The silence ends
She knows what she’s going to do
You’re only small and mean
Crawling away from the heat
It’ll melt you down
Till you evaporate away

Don’t even fool yourself
‘Cause this is not about you
We sing for the Survivors
They have gone beyond you
This is your concern,
This is your mistake
In the heat, the love, the light
You will just evaporate
